Alice musician ready for Battle

Alice Springs music student Geremy Pedrezuela says she is nervous but confident of performing strongly at the Battle of the School Bands final in Darwin on April 15.

“I’ll sing two songs that I wrote myself and play guitar,” the Vocational Education and Training in Schools certificate III student said.

“One of the songs is called ‘Games’, which I wrote when a friend of mine was going through heartbreak. The other is called ‘Fool’, which is a random song I came up with on the spur of the moment.”

Ms Pedrezuela will compete in the solo category.

The Centralian Senior College student said she learnt to sing at home playing Karaoke, and performed in public for the first time just last year, at a multi-cultural event in the Alice.

“But this will be different. I’ll be performing in a different place in front of different people in a different environment. I’m feeling a bit nervous.”

Category winners will be invited to perform at BASSINTHEGRASS in Darwin on May 21.
