University honours top students

CDU has honoured its top Hair, Beauty and Retail students at a presentation and awards night at Alice Springs campus.

Team Leader Linda Manning said she was delighted that students had shown high levels of commitment, professionalism and ability.

“This gathering of staff, students, friends, family and industry representatives demonstrates the strength of the sector in Central Australia, which augurs well for the future,” Ms Manning said.

“We are looking forward to next year when we will continue to deliver a range of courses in response to community needs at the Alice Springs and Palmerston campuses.

“The demand for beauty courses, including the Diploma of Beauty, has been rocketing in Alice Springs. We remain committed to teaching Hairdressing to our Secondary Students in Alice and our Hairdressing certificate courses in the Top End.

“We will also support our Retail students in 2020.

“I’m proud of this year’s students and congratulate each of our winners on a job well done. I’m also most grateful to our staff Debra Street and Cherry Miller.
