Business, industry flock to Waterfront eventCharles Darwin University, through the Office of Research and Innovation, partnered with the NT Chamber of Commerce to host a successful Business at Sunset event last week, showcasing the Business School at the Waterfront and CDU’s capabilities. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Professor Lawrence Cram, and General Manager, VET Business Improvement Mr Dennis Tonkin spoke about CDU’s capability in delivering education, training, and research and development solutions for industry throughout the NT and wider region. CDU’s Director of Research, Mr Brendon Douglas said it was critically important for the university to host such events to showcase the high quality of the institution by world standards and the value it could deliver to partnerships with industry. “CDU is an important institution and industry partner in the NT and broader region. This message was reiterated at the largest attended Business at Sunset event held for years, with more than 150 industry partners attending,” Mr Douglas said. “The event enabled industry representatives to see first-hand CDU’s Waterfront venue, many for the first time, to network with CDU colleagues and to promote the depth of our capability and advantages of being a dual-sector university.” Such events advanced CDU’s strategic plan Connect Discover Grow by fostering stronger engagement with industry to form mutually beneficial relationships, he said. |
