Members of the public had an opportunity to hear about projects Charles Darwin University is working on with Chinese partners during a showcase last month.

The CDU Engagement with China event showcased the university’s collaboration with provincial stakeholders and institutions, current research projects, and education and training activities.

CDU Centre for School Leadership, Learning and Development Executive Director Professor Kathryn Moyle gave a presentation about the upcoming school principal leadership program with Hefei Normal University in China’s Anhui Province.

Professor Moyle said the three-week program, running from 19 November – 8 December, would bring 21 Chinese middle and high school principals to Darwin.

“The Chinese Government is interested in learning about how Australia develops its school leaders, and go to some of the country’s most prestigious universities in search of such insights,” Professor Moyle said.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to exchange knowledge about education practices so CDU and our Chinese partners can better understand how we each go about our work.”

As well as presentations from researchers and academic staff, the CDU Engagement with China event included addresses by the co-directors of the university’s Confucius Institute.
