Charles Darwin University has received $76,000 in Federal Government funding to support students studying overseas in 2016.

The Endeavour Mobility Grants will provide 23 student grants, including 10 grants for students planning to take part in the Greek In-Country Language Program.

The funding also will support postgraduate education student placements in Timor-Leste, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Philippines, through the “Asia Postgrad Short-term” grants program. Students will be placed with organisations that have partnered with CDU’s International Graduate Centre for Education.

Eight Endeavour Cheung Kong Student Exchange Program grants will provide an opportunity for students to undertake an exchange with partner universities in Hong Kong or China.

CDU was successful in securing funding from the Federal Department of Education and Training’s grants program, to which almost 900 applications were made.

The grants aim to support short-term and semester study and exchange programs overseas for tertiary education students and are in addition to the Federal Government’s New Colombo Plan grant initiative.
