New student claims victory

A new student has made a winning start to her first year at Charles Darwin University, receiving a study prize pack at an Orientation Week competition that aimed to introduce students to campus life.

Explorer Game winner, Bachelor of Clinical Science student Jo Ugwu said she had learned many interesting facts about Casuarina campus during the game.

“I enjoyed the fact that the game asked us questions that I couldn’t just look up on the internet,” she said.

“You really had to engage with the activities and understand the university.”

Jo said she enjoyed meeting new people along with the workshops and exhibits during O-Week.

“It adjusts your thinking and helps you find your way around and ease into uni life,” she said.

Jo said she enrolled in the NT Medical Program because she was interested in tropical medicine and hoped to practise medicine in rural areas once she completed the course.

Included in the study prize pack was a new laptop, multimedia speakers, all-in-one printer, headset, wireless mouse, a portable hard drive and a CDU backpack.
