Modern look delights haircut crew

The hairdressing salon at Alice Springs campus has undergone a makeover that brings it in line with industry standards.

Visiting hairdressing trainer Jo Scott said new mirrors, cupboards and a seamless bench top had been installed to give the salon a “refreshed and modern look”.

“We’ve also made some improvements in the theory classroom that allows for better use of space,” Ms Scott said.

“It’s a higher standard and safer workplace for staff and students, and I’m sure our clients will appreciate it too.”

Ms Scott said the upgrade followed a similar project at Palmerston campus.

“We went for the same colour scheme at both campuses but in Palmerston the refurbishment included the areas used by our beauty and nail technology staff.”

Ms Scott said the future continued to look bright for hairdressing training in Alice Springs.

“We will provide 10 one-week training blocks on a monthly basis throughout the year.

“There are 12 apprentice hairdressers enrolled in the Certificate III in Hairdressing course.”
