Manager learns Harvard way

By Patrick Nelson

An up-and-coming Charles Darwin University manager has returned home to the Territory after completing a leadership course at one of the top universities in the USA.

Acting Director of Operations for the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Leadership, Cheryl Godwell said the Harvard Kennedy School’s executive education program Women and Power focussed on advancing women to positions of power and influence in public leadership.

“It was an intense program that used the Harvard Case Study Method to examine leadership challenges faced by women in contemporary workplaces,” Ms Godwell said.

Ms Godwell was the recipient of a Roberta Sykes Indigenous Education Foundation Scholarship, which provides support for Indigenous Australians to pursue post-graduate study at leading overseas universities.
