Ceremonies mark graduate success
Hundreds of new engineers, environmental scientists, health workers and trades people will celebrate with family and friends at Charles Darwin University graduation ceremonies this week.
VET and higher education students will mark the culmination of their university studies at one of two ceremonies on Friday at the Darwin Convention Centre.
Some 20 PhD graduands will gain the title of doctor after successfully completing their research on topics ranging from understanding the ecology of an invasive weed to understanding health information recall and effects in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander smokers.
The Occasional Address at the 11am ceremony will be delivered by Director Adamant Property Services Adam Twomey, while the evening address will be delivered by Indonesian Consul Mr Andre Omer Siregar.
The ceremony for the Faculty of Engineering, Health, Science and the Environment; Menzies School of Health Research; Faculty of Vocational Education and Training’s School of Health, Community and Children’s Services, School of Primary Industries, and School of Trades will be held at 11am.
Graduates from the Faculty of Law, Education, Business and Arts; Australian Centre for Indigenous Knowledges and Education, and the Faculty of Vocational Education and Training, School of Service Industries will be recognised at the ceremony starting at 5pm.
