Students add flare to hair for charity

By Katie Weiss

Darwin students have coloured and shaved their way into raising more than $1700 for blood cancer research during the World’s Greatest Shave event.

Student Recruitment and Events manager Marissa Briston said dozens of participants added a range of colourful designs to their hair during the Casuarina campus event.

“We received a tremendous amount of community support, with people finding a chance to talk about ways that blood cancer has touched their lives,” Ms Briston said.

She said the volunteering CDU Student Ambassadors also sold more than 200 cupcakes and other treats, donated by local bakeries and students, during the Leukaemia Foundation event.
