Colour, creativity and a spirit of carnival swept through the Karawa Restaurant during the recent Imagination Unlimited hair and beauty show at Palmerston campus.

The skills and expertise of more than 60 hairdressing and beauty therapy students went on display during a fashion parade that won the applause of industry professionals, suppliers, friends and family.

Team leader of sales and personal services Bronwyn Hudson said the show gave students an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of their technical skills, and unleash their imaginations.

“We had high expectations and were delighted,” Ms Hudson said.

“I am confident that with the knowledge, skills, and the experience from events like this show, many of our students will find jobs in the hair and beauty sectors in Darwin and Palmerston.

“They’ll hit the ground running.”

Ms Hudson said students enrolled in the full suite of certificate and diploma courses had been involved in the show.

“It was an important part of their learning journey,” she said. “It gave our students the opportunity to use their imaginations by creating fantasy make-up looks and extravagant hair styles for a flamboyant fashion event.”
