Filling out a simple questionnaire at a CDU information booth has paid off for a Territory high school student who has spent many hours thinking long and hard about his career and study options.

Year 12 Centralian Senior College student Noel Kruger is now the owner of an iPad, the prize on offer in an online quiz run by CDU staff at the recent Skills, Employment and Career Expo in Alice Springs.

A delighted Noel, one of more than 1100 visitors to pass through the doors to the Expo, said he was hoping to be accepted as an undergraduate student at CDU in 2014.

“I’ve applied to do a Bachelor of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advocacy at Casuarina,” he said.

“I was talking to someone (from CDU) about courses for next year when they asked me if I wanted to do a survey on the computer.

“It will come in handy,” he said of the prize.

Noel was one of two winners of Ipads as CDU staff fielded scores of questions from prospective students at the Expo, or at the Info Night at Alice Springs campus recently.

Between them, the events were designed to showcase CDU’s courses and facilities across the vocational and higher education sectors in Alice Springs, and to provide details about enrolments, pathways, scholarships, and of the support mechanisms available to assist students achieve academic success.

The winner of the iPad at the Info Night was Jonathan Bird.
