Expanding CDU’s regional presence

CDU Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman has been visiting the regions including Katherine, Palmerston and Alice Springs as a part of his commitment to expand CDU’s offerings across the Northern Territory.

Professor Bowman joined 15 staff on campus in Katherine where they enjoyed a morning tea and a tour of the campus, farm and property and lunch before the VC visited the Katherine town centre.

As a part of the visit, Professor Bowman met with Katherine Rural Campus Farm and Stud Overseer Jessica Di Pasquale and Team Leader Agriculture and Rural Operations Alison Haines.

“I intend to get to Katherine, Alice Springs and Palmerston much more often and next month I am hoping to run the VC’s office from Katherine for a few days,” Professor Bowman said.

“I will also be getting out to other sites and campuses across the Northern Territory and further afield. I am particularly looking forward to visiting our Sydney and Brisbane sites.

“There is nothing better than finding out directly about what is going on, on the ground.”

CDU has appointed Jay Walker as Associate Vice-Chancellor based in Alice Springs and will be making a similar appointment for the Katherine region.
