A high-achieving multi-media student has won this year’s Ronny Reinhard Memorial Prize for Creative Arts at Charles Darwin University.

Chris Fitzpatrick, a Certificate IV in Interactive Digital Media student, collected the $500 prize at the annual prize-giving ceremony for outstanding students, at Alice Springs campus recently.

Media lecturer Ben Ward said Chris had demonstrated commitment and developed outstanding skills as a high school student through the Vocational Education and Training in Schools program.

“Christopher has excelled as a talented media student with a strong drive to develop a career in the industry,” Mr Ward said.

“He worked with ABC Open in Alice Springs last year, producing radio programs that have gone to air, and now works as a trainee animator for the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association.

“He has a passion for the industry and a bright future as a young Indigenous media producer.”

The Ronny Reinhard Memorial Prize is awarded annually to an outstanding creative arts student at Charles Darwin University.

The prize was established in memory of the significant contribution made by CDU media and music lecturer, the late Ronny Reinhard.
