Almost 100 international students have attended orientation days at Charles Darwin University’s Centres in Melbourne and Sydney.

Senior International Student Advisor Simona Brancikova said a range of presenters spoke at the events, including Victoria Police and Study Melbourne Student Centre representatives at the Melbourne orientation.

“Orientation aims to help students overcome any culture shock they might have, having come from a range of countries to a new place with a new study system,” Ms Brancikova said.

Activities during the Melbourne event included an “Amazing Race” challenge, where students followed clues to iconic sites in the city, and took ‘selfies’ at each location.

Ms Brancikova said the activity helped students make friends and learn to navigate around the city using public transport, with the winning team awarded vouchers and a laptop.

CDU’s Centres in Melbourne and Sydney offer courses in commerce, accounting, business administration (professional practice) and accounting (professional practice).
