Some outstanding Charles Darwin University Vocational Education and Training (VET) students have been announced as finalists in the 2014 NT Training Awards.

Eleven CDU VET students are among the Territory's top apprentices, trainees, and vocational students announced as finalists in the 2014 Awards.

The students will compete in five of the six student award categories, including Trainee of the Year, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year and VET in Schools Student of the Year.

A VET CDU instructor has been named a finalist in the VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year category.

CDU is in the running for the Training Provider of the Year title and has also been nominated, in collaboration with Group Training NT, for the Training Initiative Award.

The awards recognise individuals, businesses and organisations achieving excellence in the field of VET.

Winners will be announced at the annual NT Training Awards gala presentation event at the Darwin Convention Centre on September 13.
