Students in Young Achiever Awards finals

Some talented Charles Darwin University students are among the finalists in this year’s Northern Territory Young Achiever Awards.

Finalists include PhD candidate Amanda Lillyman, Master of Emergency Disaster Management student Jessie Spargo and Bachelor of Commerce student Kyaw Naing.

PhD candidate Jessica Webb another who received a University Postgraduate Research Scholarship from CDU in 2014, is also a finalist. 

Finalists also have been announced in the CDU sponsored Arts Award category.

CDU Arts Awards finalists include:

  • Hayley Kelly, 18, is a dancer specialising in ballet and was recently accepted into the prestigious Sydney Dance Company.
  • Jeremiah Rasingm, 25, runs Darwin-based dance organisation BreakdanceNT, which provides support to the NT’s breakdancing and hip hop community.
  • Eleanor Dixon, 24, from the Marlinja community in the Barkly Tablelands, is a singer in the band Rayella, and will perform in this year’s Barunga Festival.
  • Jonathan Saunders, 29, is a Darwin-based Indigenous stencil artist whose work focuses on comic book and superhero iconography in an Australian urban context.

The Northern Territory Young Achiever Awards recognise Territorians aged between 14 and 27 whose achievements have positively contributed to the community.
