Campus gears up for #CDUODay

By Ellie Turner

Staff are gearing up to showcase all that CDU has to offer the community during Open Day 2017 at Casuarina campus on Sunday, 20 August.

Visitors will have opportunities to make hand cream, learn more about the mysterious world of cybersecurity, discover scientific secrets to love and relationships and explore the scrub on campus in pursuit of a rare native animal.

Event Manager Marissa Briston said Open Day would be a fun and informative day full of interactive displays, workshops, performances, tours and talks for the whole community.

“We believe that a new world university is built on social justice, sustainability, creativity and collective effort,” she said.

“Visitors can come and talk to our student ambassadors to find out what it's like studying at CDU and find out from lecturers about our wide range of courses in VET and Higher Education.”

Open Day 2017 will feature an Enviro Hub – showcasing CDU’s efforts in sustainability – where visitors can discover and discuss ways to reduce their carbon footprints.

Entertainment will include Upai Purri dance troupe, Chinese lion dancers and children’s band Lah-Lah, while dozens of stalls will provide information about areas of study including medicine, information technology, VET, science and the arts.

Open Day will be held from 10am – 2pm on Sunday, 20 August 2017.

Visitors who create a personalised Open Day schedule online will go in the draw to win a $1000 travel voucher.
