A Vocational Education and Training lecturer in Central Australia has added another trophy to her collection following victory at the table tennis championships in Alice Springs recently.

Kaye Carter, who travels far and wide providing adult literacy and numeracy support to students throughout the Red Centre, won the women’s open doubles title in a tense five-setter.

It was the second year in a row that she has won the title.

“It was a thrill to win,” said Ms Carter, who played about 30 games over the weekend in an assortment of divisions.

“The majority of sets went to five games, so I was quite exhausted by the end of the tournament.”

Ms Carter, who also finished second in the veterans doubles division, said she would now turn her attention to the Masters Games in October.
She won silver in the women’s doubles at the 2012 Masters Games.
