The Heights, Durack – three years on

The Heights residential development at Durack, which is adjacent to CDU’s Palmerston campus, has undergone a dramatic transformation since civil construction works began on-site three years ago.

The development by CIC Australia, in collaboration with CDU, is now a genuine neighbourhood with almost 150 homes completed and another 100 under construction.

And as more residents move in, land continues to be snapped up with allotments in Stage 11 of the development the latest to be released to the market due to ongoing demand.

These newest land allotments range in size from 303 sq m to 1080 sq m, with prices starting from $195,000.

Ultimately, The Heights will see hundreds more homes built this decade, as well as parks, bike paths, walking tracks and a lakeside neighbourhood centre to hold community events and exhibitions.

More than 330 lots have already been sold as the development continues to appeal to a broad range of people from singles and professional couples through to growing families and retirees.

Also of interest to the Palmerston campus community is the new road to be built, which will connect University Avenue adjacent to the university’s main car park with Packard Avenue within The Heights, Durack.

Construction works will begin later this year ahead of the road opening by next April, which will provide easier traffic access for residents and the broader community.

Save the date: A family fun day will be held at The Heights, Durack, on Saturday 19 September from 10am-12noon. There will be plenty of food and drink to enjoy, and fun for the kids as Territory FM broadcasts live from the free community event. All welcome!
