CDU cements ties with scholar Foundation

College of Indigenous Futures, Arts and Society Dean Professor Ruth Wallace has been named on the board of the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation.

The appointment comes after Professor Wallace’s long involvement sharing her academic experience with the Foundation and cements its connection with Charles Darwin University.

The Foundation was set up to honour the contribution of Sir Roland Wilson, KBE, CBE who was an economist and academic who had a remarkable career as a public servant.

It brings together the Australian National University, CDU and the Australian Public Service to build public policy capability and leadership through postgraduate scholarships, professional development and networking opportunities.

The Foundation provides scholarships that invest in research and development opportunities for public servants to study in a range of fields, such as public administration, economic and social policy, data and cyber security, law, and environment and climate management.

Professor Wallace is also the Director of CDU’s Northern Institute. Her research centres on making social policy adaptive to the strengths and knowledge systems of marginalised people, with a focus on learning and workforce development pathways in regional and remote areas. Professor Wallace supervises a number of Sir Roland Wilson Foundation scholars studying at CDU.
