2013 students to orientate online

By Louise Errington

Ms Farrelly said external students would now be part the excitement of Orientation Day as CDU rolls out a program that will allow them to orientate online

With thousands of students commencing their studies with Charles Darwin University this month, the university has become one of the few Australian tertiary education providers to offer an online Orientation program.

Executive Director Corporate Services Debra Farrelly said the “Orientation: Prepare, Belong, Achieve” website was particularly beneficial to external students and those unable to attend on-campus Orientation.

“More than half our higher education students access their studies online, with many located interstate,” Ms Farrelly said.

“These students can now be part of the exciting experience of Orientation Day, which is traditionally held on-campus.

“CDU has honoured its commitment to ensure the expenditure of the Student Services and Amenities Fees is directed towards enhancing the learning experiences of its students, particularly its external students.

“The online Orientation program is one more example of that.”

The Orientation: Prepare, Belong, Achieve website is designed to support students in their learning experience by providing important course and student services information, as well as familiarising them with CDU.
