Update from The Heights, Durack

Civil construction is underway at The Heights, Durack residential development which neighbours CDU's Palmerston campus

Civil works are well underway at The Heights, Durack housing development located directly adjacent to Charles Darwin University’s Palmerston campus.

CDU’s former surplus land is being transformed into a modern residential community on the banks of the university lake to help cater for the region’s growing demand for high-quality housing.

As part of the master-planned development’s commitment to best practice environmental initiatives, large areas of existing vegetation have been fenced off during the civil works for retention in the new development.

Areas identified as future reserves and neighbourhood parks will also be protected, and the development will include walking trails and bike paths.

Civil works are expected to be completed in coming months and the construction of the first homes is set to commence around mid-year, with 882 dwellings to be built over the next five to seven years.

The $450 million development is a joint project between CIC Australia and the Larrakia Development Corporation.
