Opportunities to link with engineering and IT students

There are a number of opportunities for Industry to link up with students at the School of Engineering and IT:

  • Vacation Work/Internships - As part of their degree, engineering and IT students are required to complete at least 12 weeks industry work placement and up to six months with the “advanced” CO-OP program. Students usually complete this at the end of their second, third, or fourth year of study. CO-OP students generally complete this at the end of their second year.
  • Research Project engineering students are required to focus on two 12 month projects in their final year of study; one is an individual research based thesis and the other a group based integrated design project. Students have access to a range of high level design software including CREO Parametric, ANSYS, SAP2000 and 3D Printers.

If your company would like to get involved with student vacation work or research projects, please contact the Industry Placement Coordinator, Rob Wolff.
