External regulations

CDU registrations

CDU is a dual sector University providing higher education (HE) and vocational education and training (VET) to domestic and international students.  According to Australian laws and regulations, three external registrations are required:

  • Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) registers CDU as a Higher Education Provider, providing the authority to deliver Higher Education courses;
  • Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) registers CDU as a Registered Training Organisation, providing the authority to deliver VET services; and
  • Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) indicates authority to provide VET, and HE courses to international students studying in Australia on a student visa

TEQSA is the national regulatory body for higher education established under the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Act 2011 (TEQSA Act) and is responsible for assuring the quality and standards of the sector.

ASQA is the national regulator for Australia's vocational education and training sector. ASQA regulates courses and VET training providers to ensure nationally approved quality standards are met.
