About eCentre

eCentre is an application for all people working at CDU that provides the following:

  • Self service computer account functions
    • View status of various computer account components
    • Change password – particularly useful to Apple Mac users.
    • Manage security questions for self service password reset at any time.
  • Self service location change (required for regional computer account management) – depending on your location, your computer account is managed in different ways. Having the wrong location may reduce your user experience or computer performance.
  • Review your staff – View staff you manage including visitors, contractors and managed students.
  • Fill in eCentre forms – Allows you to make requests for you or your staff.
  • Modify your contact information for the CDU online directory
  • View and action work items generated for you by eCentre
eCentre can be accessed from the Portal by clicking the eCentre tile.

The home page of eCentre gives you immediate access to check and update information about yourself. 

Such as

  • your status in eCentre,
  • computer account,
  • when your password is due to expire in number of days and the date it will expire,
  • phone directory listing,
  • physical location,
  • SMS update registration,
  • supervisor, and
  • voicemail access.

If your position supervises staff you will see a "My Staff" tab next to the home tab at the top of the page. This will give you access to a listing of people you supervise and some associated actions.

Click Forms and Request to ask for something.

There are over 20 different forms in eCentre, and it is always worth checking back and seeing if any new forms have been added. You can make requests in regards to computer accounts, access to security doors, get an account for a non-CDU person, make requests concerning phones, request access to different CDU systems such as Trim and Callista.

Here you can view eCentre requests you have filled in, or someone else has filled for you. You can filter the table to find specific requests and edit or review them.

View form status

If you are a designated approver or actioner for a eCentre form, items requiring your attention will appear on the My Status window and under the My Tasks button.

My Tasks Button

eCentre uses the delegations set up in Staff Online when assigning work items to CDU staff. Delegations are set up from your position to another.

This allows you to change your password for all applications for which access is controlled by the Identity Management System (IDM).
This is especially useful to Mac users who need a web based password change function for when their computer account password expires.

Change password

CDU has updated its security regarding password resets. It is important that CDU staff log into eCentre to review and update the “Security Questions” held there as these will be asked when attempting a password reset.

Why is this happening?

ITMS is obligated to protect the security of both CDU and its staff/students. As such, we are implementing best practice policies in regards to password resets. Most institutions and companies have similar policies in place to ensure that it is harder for someone to gain access to confidential information.

What if I can’t be identified?

If an account owner contacts the ITMS Service Desk and we are unable to identify them via the information held in eCentre, we will contact and send their supervisor an email with a link and a set of instructions allowing them to reset the password.

This page is used to register your acceptance of CDU governing documents.

Displays the last Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) policy you accepted when you activated your computer account.

Lists eCentre news items. When you first log in to eCentre any "new" items are shown to you on a pop up window. All past items, marked by you as "Don't show", can be accessed here.

eCentre Form statistics

This allows staff and managers or supervisor to see their own (or those they manage) Phone and Internet data usage. That is how many calls you or they have made and their cost as well as how much they have downloaded and uploaded in a month or on a specific day.

To access this go to eCentre and click the "Phone Usage" or "Internet Usage" button on the left hand panel.

Phone and Internet Usage

The training button displays the training courses you have completed.

Training report

This button shows your "My PEEP" (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan) for those that might require assistance during an emergency evacuation. The plan is created in "Forms and Requests" in eCentre then appears here.

If you have been listed or included in someone else's "My PEEP" you will see it here under "My PEEP Responsibilities".
