Student Passwords

To improve security, CDU are implementing some changes to how student passwords work.

On 9th January 2017, a new password policy is being enforced where student passwords will need to be changed on a 180-day cycle. Student passwords that are currently older than this will need to be changed to a new password.

Passwords now also need to be at least 8 characters long and be a mixture of three of the following four types of characters;

  • Uppercase,  (ABCDEFG....)
  • Lowercase,  (abcdefg....)
  • Numbers, (123456...)
  • Non-alphanumeric characters (! $ # % & * [ {...)
If you change your password before, you will not be affected on that 9th January 2017.

How to change your student password

To change your password go to (https://portal.cdu.edu.au) and click on the settings ( (1) in the top right of the page) then click the “Change Password” (2) and follow the instruction on the page that opens.

Note: Once your password has changed, you will need to update any device that uses your password such as CDU wireless and any passwords saved in your internet browser for accessing websites such as Learnline.
