Recover Deleted Emails

Recovering Emails from Secondary Recycle Bin

Exchange online has two recycle bins, we have noticed an issue where some emails have accidentally ended up in the secondary recycle bin and may require recovery by end users in some scenarios.

Below are the two methods you can use.

Using Outlook Client
 
Open Outlook and navigate to deleted items, see below
 
 
 
 
Click on the below text.
 
 
 
A new screen will open called "Recover deleted items"
 
 
 
Highlight the emails you would like to recover
(Tip: you can use control Key to select individual emails or use Select All button).
 
 
 
Make sure that "Restore Selected Items" is selected then click "Ok" (should be by default).
 
 
  
These emails selected above will be moved back into your Deleted Items folder.
 
 
 
 These emails can be moved back to the required folders by selecting emails and moving.

Using Web version of Outlook

Open Outlook and navigate to Deleted Items folder, see below
 
 
 
 Click on the "Recover Items deleted from this folder" as shown below.
 
 
 
Click on the "Restore" as shown below.
 
 
 
Highlight the emails you would like to recover
(Tip: you can use control key for each email or shift Key to select multiple emails).
 
 
 
 These emails can be moved back to the required folders by selecting emails and moving.
