The unified communications solution in place at CDU utilises the Cisco Unified Communications Manager along with multiple redundant Cisco Unified Presence Servers (CUPS), ensuring this service remains highly available.

This highly-secure, fully-encrypted communication service provides real time presence and availability awareness through connections to on-hook/off-hook tracking, Active Directory information, and Outlook calendaring functions.

Fully integrated with our IP phone network, the service can be set to link desk phones and mobile phones allowing you to stay contactable even when mobile. Softphone, click to call, and video chat can be made available through your desktop or laptop computer. The service also provides highly secure exchange of enhanced instant messaging (IM) such as group chat, persistent chat, IM logging, and IM history.

Simultaneously supporting Cisco Unified Communications and standards-based Extensible Messaging Presence Protocol (XMPP), the service is able to communicate with a wide variety of client programs on multiple platforms making it truly non-reliant on make, model, or type of client device.
