CDU Melbourne celebrates first graduates

Charles Darwin University has celebrated the first group of students to complete their studies through CDU Melbourne.

Graduands of Bachelor and Master degrees in Commerce and Accounting recently received CDU pins at a valedictory ceremony at the Melbourne centre.

CDU and partner provider ATMC congratulated the students who were from China, India, Nepal and Vietnam.

The university’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Martin Carroll, said he was particularly impressed by the performance of the international students.

“Not only did they meet the strenuous academic standards of Australian university education, but they also did so while successfully navigating a social context that was unfamiliar to them,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer of ATMC Dr Manish Malhotra joined CDU and ATMC staff at the celebration along with the students’ family and friends.

“CDU Melbourne exemplifies how high-quality educational opportunities can be made available to students through innovative partnerships,” Dr Malhotra said.

“Students are benefitting from being part of a close educational community, set right in the heart of exciting Melbourne. We are able to capitalise on our location through work integrated learning opportunities with local businesses and industries.”

The partnership began with 101 students in July 2013 and will have more than 600 students enrolled in MBA, MPA and Bachelor of Commerce programs in 2016 at ATMC CDU centre in Collins Street, Melbourne.
