Join our 3 day camping trip visiting the world heritage listed Kakadu National Park. The trip will visit the beautiful Gunbalanya area for an indigenous art tour and include time at the Mahbilil festival in Jabiru. Dates: Saturday 3 to Monday 5 September 2016.

The cost is $130 per IHD resident. Prepayment of full amount is due at IHD Reception by 19 August 2016. The deadline is strict as we must submit names for permits to enter Arnhem Land in time. The trip will be added to your account.
Itinerary:

Saturday 3 September:
Depart IHD 8.00 am.
Travel to Jabiru(break at Bark Hut)
Set up camp in Jabiru, lunch provided
Attend Mahbilil Festival in Jabiru. Entry free but all costs at the Festival are your responsibility (eg food, drink etc). The festival runs midday to midnight.

Sunday 4 September:
We will plan today as a group. We can travel to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge)for swimming (100 km each way incl 10km dirt track)or choose an alternative such as Twin Falls for a scenic walk (100km each way incl 80 km on dirt).
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Late afternoon we can go to Ubirr to watch the beautiful sunset. Dinner will be at your own expense tonight. The campground offers bistro style meals by the pool or you can prepare your own meal in the camp kitchen/bbq area.

Monday 5 September:
Rise early today as we need to cross the Cahill Crossing on an appropriate tide and travel to Gunbalanya for the Injalak Hill Art tour.
Breakfast, snacks provided.
We will buy our own lunches and journey back to Darwin, arriving at IHD during the evening.

Included in this cost:
Transport, 2 Breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 nights’ Camping fees,
Injalak Hill Art Tour, Permits for entry to Arnhem Land.

At own cost:
2 dinners, one at the Mahbilil Festival, 1 lunch, snacks en route.
Non-N.T residents will need to pay a Kakadu park entry fee of $40.
*You will need an N.T Driver's licence to prove residence in N.T*
