Lecturer in Nursing

Libby joined CDU in a casual capacity in April 2016 as an assistance lecturer and took up a full time position at CDU as Lecturer and unit coordinator in 2017.

Libby’s career as a nurse started in 2004 as an Enrolled nurse prior to completing the Bachelor of Nursing Degree at CDU in 2010.

Her areas of clinical expertise included palliative care and renal nursing as well as general medical surgical nursing with a particular interest in chronic disease. She completed further studies in the speciality of Renal nursing before being employed as a Graduate nurse educator for 3 years prior to joining CDU as an undergraduate lecturer.

Libby has a passion for Indigenous cultures and quality holistic healthcare that empowers and includes the client at the centre of their care. Her goal is to inspire and educate others who chose a career in Healthcare to work to the best of their ability with honesty, integrity, kindness and compassion to promote the best possible outcome for patients.

Libby has been awarded NT Nurse of the Year and the Anne Arthur Award for excellence and innovation in nursing.
