About the Jabiru area

jabiruThe unique township of Jabiru is situated in the middle of World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park perched on the edge of Arnhem Land. Jabiru hosts a range of services for residents and tourists alike and is the gateway to many of the amazing sights in Kakadu National Park.

Jabiru is home to about 1100 people, with about 400 people in the rest of Kakadu. Jabiru's population is about 20 per cent Indigenous, while the Kakadu population is about 50 per cent Indigenous.
