Chris Dias

Chris is a product of the NT Education system having completed his schooling at Nightcliff Primary and Darwin High Schools in the 1960s and later undertaking postgraduate studies at NTU/CDU (MEd(Hons) and Grad Dip PSEM). Having completed a BSc and Dip Ed at Adelaide University Chris started teaching at Alyangula in 1975, and over the next 32 years held positions in 5 Darwin Secondary Schools retiring as Principal of Palmerston High School in 2007.

Chris has worked in an office based position in DoE in teacher staffing and on secondment to RM Australasia during the rollout of secondary SAMS. He has also undertaken various part-time teaching roles over the years in Science and Education at CDU in its various guises from DCC through DIT and NTU. After retiring in 2007 Chris helped establish the NT Space School and was active in various community groups. He still maintains strong contacts in various NT secondary schools and within the NT Department of Education.
