ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED

Construction and demolition waste (CDW) represents 40% of all waste sent to landfill. Population growth and increasing global construction activity is leading to continuing growth in waste generation. Reducing CDW and diverting it from landfill is critical with existing landfills rapidly being exhausted and fewer viable options for waste offshoring. Appropriate waste management has benefits and challenges from a social, environmental and economic perspective.

This workshop will bring together key representatives from industry, local, state and federal government and peak industry bodies to discuss the social, environmental and economic issues associated with construction waste management and identify opportunities and potential solutions to these problems.

This collaborative workshop is being facilitated by internationally recognised experts in waste management and construction from Charles Darwin UniversityThe University of Melbourne and The Energy and Resources Institute (India). The India-Australia Construction Waste Management Workshop has received grant funding from the Australia-India Council of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the Northern Territory.
