Is it legal? – Is it right?
We are delighted to have Cathie Armour, an ASIC Commissioner, present a summary of her speech delivered to the general counsel summit, on why regulatory compliance is not achieved by a checklist approach the law.

This perspective with its emphasis not only on strict compliance with legal obligations, but also on an organisation’s foundations – like its strategy, culture, ethics and risk appetite – correlates with a broader discussion that ASIC, like regulators everywhere are keen to advance.

Cathie will also join the panel discussion on why business culture, behaviours and ethics is rapidly becoming a crucial factor in organisation performance and hence board effectiveness.
