The mixed methods Dialysis Model of Care Partnership has used linked data about patients receiving renal replacement therapy between 2000 and 2014 in the Northern Territory (NT) to quantify key health, social and economic outcomes associated with different models of dialysis care.
This talk will present the health related outcomes (hospitalisation, dialysis attendance and survival) for different haemodialysis models of care used by patients with end stage kidney disease in the NT. This work will lead to a better understanding of the cost-effectiveness of dialysis models, including those providing treatment closer to home in remote areas.

Shamsir is a public health epidemiologist and his research focuses on clinical and community based health interventions to improve the life and health of children and women of low and middle income countries.

Next: Tuesday, 19 June - Professor Gary Robinson “Developing and Piloting a Parenting Program for PNG”.

  • The presentations will be 20 minutes with 10 minutes for questions.
  • Please feel free to forward this notice to your colleagues and associates
