Title: “Evaluation of the One Disease Crusted Scabies (CS) Elimination project in the NT Partners”

The purpose of the evaluation was to examine the implementation and impacts of the Crusted Scabies Elimination program in NT Top End Services and to assess the cost of illness for crusted scabies.
One Disease is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation that aims to eliminate Crusted Scabies in remote Indigenous communities by providing education and support to local health services and communities. This approach will hopefully lead to embedding of systems at the local level to support management of Crusted Scabies for staff and clients.

Michelle is the Acting CEO Program Director for One Disease. A Registered Nurse Midwife with 25 years experience conducting health programs that focus on good clinical outcomes and the social determinants of health. The main focus of her work has been with remote indigenous communities and other large indigenous health services throughout Australia both in research and service delivery.
In 2006 she completed the Masters in Public Health at Charles Darwin University. In recent years she facilitated the development of multimedia resources for sharing health messages on mobile phones. A career highlight has been supporting the Yolgnu at Galiwinku to successfully run the Galiwinku Healthy Lifestyle Festival from 1998 until 2008.
