Science@Sunset: What has Marcus taught us? What do we do next?

As the sun sets join us for a discussion with local experts:

On Saturday March 17 we were visited by Category 2 Cyclone Marcus.

Trees came down, power was out, and water had to be boiled. Was the damage caused by Marcus expected,
or greater than expected? How did we cope with it all and what can we learn from it?

What have we learnt – what do we need to do?

Let those with the local knowledge explain it and guide us forward.

  • Akhilesh Surjan – Associated Professor; Humanitarian, Emergency and Disaster Management Studies; Charles Darwin University
  • Rebecca Mills – General Manager, New Energy and Sustainability; Territory Generation
  • Jade Leask – Senior Climate Change and Environmental Officer: City of Darwin.

Canapes provided; cash bar available
