As the sun sets, join us for a Q and A with scientists visiting Darwin for the 26th AMOS Annual Meeting and the International Conference for Tropical Meteorology and Oceanography (AMOS-ICTMO 2019), prior to the free screening of INVENTING TOMORROW.

Inventing Tomorrow follows six young scientists from Indonesia, Hawaii, India and Mexico as they tackle some of the most complex environmental issues facing humanity today – right in their own backyards. Each student is preparing original scientific research that he or she will defend at ISEF, the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Framed against the backdrop of the severe environmental threats we now face, the film immerses the audience in a global view of the planetary crisis, through the eyes of the generation that will be affected by it most. This screening is hosted by the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS), an independent, not-for-profit organisation representing the atmospheric and oceanographic sciences in Australia. AMOS currently has over 500 members drawn from the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO, the university sector, other State and Federal agencies, as well as the private
sector. Most members of AMOS are actively employed or studying in scientific fields, but the membership also includes retired scientists, school teachers and members of the general community with an interest in weather and climate.

Tuesday 11 June 2019 Q & A from 6.30pm, Movie starts at 7.30pm in Deckchair Cinema
