Abstract:
Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commissioner Sally Sievers has been invited by Menzies’ Gender Equity Committee to speak about gender equity and how it can be achieved in the workplace.

Biography:
Sally Sievers has been a lawyer in the Northern Territory since 1988 and the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner for the Northern Territory since January 2013. Commissioner Sievers has focused the Commission’s activities in the areas of Race and Disability Discrimination and gender equality, in particular the impact of discrimination against women and families. The Commission has in conjunction with interstate Commissions designed a workshop raising awareness of unconscious bias, and has been working with a NT Government Department on a Strategy to Prevent Domestic and Family Violence through working comprehensively on gender equity.
