NI Research Student Network Writing Retreat

26 - 28 August 2016

The 3 day writing retreat has been designed in response to student requests as a respite and retreat event for HDR students to commit to completing a specific writing, free from distractions. The goal is to assist HDR students working on a significant research component as part of their program, in preparing a thesis chapter/s or draft journal article based on their thesis to be reviewed by supervisors before submission.

The structure and program for the retreat will be developed in conjunction with the HDR Students involved in the NI HDR Student Network.  The structured program will use the Pomodoro technique and will be led by a retreat facilitator. This builds on the success of the CRN project writing workshops and the NI Pomodoro group led by the Northern Institute. If productive, this would become an annual event.

Northern Institute will cover the accommodation and food while at Lake Bennett, and are arranging carpooling to get everyone there and back.  Travelling to and from Darwin from off campus locations will be a cost to the students.  Let us know if you have any questions about this.
