Shelley Worthington has significant expertise developing and implementing pedagogy and resources to improve outcomes for students engaged in Vocational Education and Training (VET) and pre VET based programs and resources through the Northern Territory Department of Education (DET-NT) schools. Shelley is a key link in the partnership between The Northern Institute and DET-NT. Shelley provides insights into the environment in which VET policy and practice is implemented by DET-NT.

Shelley supports linkages between the Northern Institute and DET-NT projects undertaken in the VET and preVET area under the CDU-NTG Partnership agreement, as well as linkages between SoE, NI and DET-NT.

She assists in building the shared understanding and capacity development required to build effective VET research in the NT, participates in identifying opportunities for growth through project partnership and introduces debates about pedagogical change that improves outcomes for students through policy and practice

Shelley supports postgraduate students' undertaking study in relevant areas, assisting them to understand the policy environment, presents seminars to demonstrate the outcomes of joint research and partners in peer reviewed publications related to CDU/NTG partner projects.
