Nanda Kaji Budhathoki

PhD Candidate

Nanda completed his master degree in Development and Resource Economics from Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) in 2009.  Along with that, he also undertook 50 credit Master and PhD’s courses on Health Economics, policy, and Management from University of Oslo in 2010. Nanda also has a Master degree in Economics from Central Department of Economics (CEDECON), Tribhuban University, Nepal.

After completing his master degree at UMB, Nanda worked as an economist in the Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) in Nepal from 2011 to 2015 and was involved in several research projects as both team leader and team member funded by various bilateral and multilateral organisations consist of JICA, UNICEF, IDRC Canada, UN Women, UNDP, TAF, ADB etc. 

Along with that, Nanda was a SANDEE (South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics) researcher working in a two year research project “Perceptions of Climate Change, Reality, and Agricultural Practice: Evidence from Nepal” as a principal researcher. 

Nanda has worked as a freelancer researcher funded by various organizations such as Lutheran World Federation (LWF), Save the Children International, and International Centre for Integrated Development and Mountain Research (ICIMOD), Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) etc. He also has more than two years teaching experiences of teaching micro and macroeconomics for both undergraduate and graduate level in Nepal.
