Alice (Al) Henderson

Research Associate

Al has 27 years experience in the NT Public Sector in middle management, supervisory and senior project officer positions in strategic planning, policy and governance, finance and administration in various areas including health; drug and alcohol policy; local government; lands and planning; natural resources, environment and heritage; and in law.  She has also provided support for for Ministerial councils, boards and committees in the NT and for the Commonwealth.  Al has a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management and is a Commissioner for Oaths.

Al commenced with the Northern Institute in September 2013 to provide support with research design, evaluation, social impact assessments and needs analysis related to regional development and social policy. She works closely with our partners in the NT Government, particularly in social policy with a focus on the Third Sector and its inter-relationships with government; and assists the Research Coordinator with processing papers and manuscripts by researchers for publication in the Learning Communities Journal and various peer reviewed journals and books.

Current Projects

  • Household Incomes and the levels of Internet Connections - Exploring the correlations between levels of household income and Internet connection rates across three geographical areas in the NT and compared to the rest of Australia for 2011.
