Katrina Britnell

Partnership Coordinator

Katrina has been with NI since 2010 after returning to Darwin from a 6 year hiatus in Brisbane.  Her first task at NI was to launch the School of Social and Policy Research into the Northern Institute. With a Marketing & Business Management background in the Mining, Oil & Gas Industries, she was equipped and ready for the challenge. Her work has evolved covering stakeholder & partnership management and the community engagement area.  Katrina manages the marketing/communications across NI and works with NI researchers to assist them in capturing research opportunities, grants, projects and activities in the Northern Territory, northern Australia, nationally & internationally.

Working with such talented researchers, Katrina feels privileged in this role to have the opportunity to connect with Indigenous elders and community members across northern Australia, and being able to hear and learn about their culture and complex lives. She is especially passionate about highlighting the many unique and positive stories that Indigenous communities have to share.
