With approximately 4500 students and 150 staff located at campuses across Australia, Charles Darwin University’s College of Nursing and Midwifery (CNM) is one of the largest university providers of online education for nurses, midwives, medical doctors and other health professionals.
We aspire to produce excellent graduates who will become the next generation of health professional leaders in their chosen career path.
Studying at CDU means you are part of a community of scholars that engage with the latest online learning technologies. Undertaking a qualification that leads to registration as either a nurse or midwife learning will involve a range of approaches to learning and teaching. You will learn the art of practice through engagement in our simulation suites located in Darwin, Alice Springs, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne. In addition, you will be emersed in health care settings located across Australia during your degree ensuring you have both the knowledge and skills required to enter practice as a qualified nurse or midwife.
CDU was the first University to offer online undergraduate health degrees in nursing and more recently midwifery. We offer a range of new postgraduate and continuing professional development programs to meet alumni demand for those of you who are current practicing health professionals.
The CNM engages in world standard research that informs knowledge, practice and ultimately health care outcomes for Australians. Our Molly Wardaguga Research Centre for example focuses on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal mothers and babies by reducing pre-term birth rates. The CNM also have researchers who specialise in Primary Health Care, Mental Health, Cancer and Chronic Conditions. Recently the CNM has established a new research group concerned with learning and teaching within academic environments, clinical and community settings.
We are a values-driven organisation, that aspires to deliver quality, innovative teaching programs and engaging in high impact research outcomes that make a difference in the lives of people in the Northern Territory, Australia and internationally. Join us to connect, discover and grow.
