Records and Archives is responsible for the retention and disposal of Charles Darwin University official records.

This includes the maintenance, storage, disposal, archiving and preservation of information.

General disposal schedules

A disposal schedule is a document which lists the records created by an organisation, their disposal status (whether a series has continuing value or temporary value), how long the records should be retained before transfer to archives, and if temporary, when they can be destroyed.

It is commonly referred to as a Disposal Authority.

It enables unnecessary records to be destroyed as soon as possible to avoid storage problems.

Records and Archives staff are currently compiling a General Disposal Schedule for Administrative Records and currently unpdating the General Disposal Schedule for Student Records
