- Two months before intended submission date
- Principal Supervisor identifies and informally invites Examiners, considering any potential conflicts of interest advised by the Candidate
- It is inappropriate for the Candidate to contact any of the nominated Examiners until after Graduation has taken place
- Principal Supervisor completes and signs the Recommendation of Examiners form (HDR-25) and submits it to the College Dean/Dean Delegate for approval
- The College will send through the approved Recommendation of Examiners to ORI and wait for submission of the thesis

Thesis Examination
- The candidate submits final (electronic) draft of their thesis to their supervisory panel for approval. Once the supervisory panel has approved the final draft, they will:
- complete and sign the HDR34 - Supervisor Certification Form (See Research Forms above), and
- forward that completed form to the Examination Coordinator stating that:
- in their opinion the thesis, in its current form, is ready for examination.
- The candidate will submit to the Examination Coordinator:
- a PDF copy of the thesis
- a signed Candidate's Thesis Submission Checklist and Declaration form (HDR39), (See Research Forms above),
- a copy of their final Ethics report (if applicable).
- The candidate submits final (electronic) draft of their thesis to their supervisory panel for approval. Once the supervisory panel has approved the final draft, they will:
- ORI will formally invite the examiners by email, once the examiners acknowledge receipt of the email and are willing to proceed with the examination ORI will forward a copy of the thesis, the examination report form and our examination procedure document to the examiners.
- The examiners are given 8 weeks to complete their examination reports, once the examiners have assessed the thesis, they will need to return the completed Examiner report form, including their written recommendation to ORI.
- ORI will forward all reports to the College Dean/Dean Delegate who will convene a panel of three to make a recommendation based on the reports received
- The College Dean/Delegate will determine the outcome and forward a Recommendation Memo to ORI with recommendations.
- ORI will notify the Candidate and Principal Supervisor of the outcome of the examination. A letter of Recommendation, copies of the examiners reports and the Table of Amendments will be sent to the candidate to address any minor or major amendments.
- Once the candidate has addressed all the recommendations requested by the College, the candidate will need to submit to ORI a pdf copy of the revised thesis and a copy of the Table of Amendments with Principal Supervisor and College Dean endorsement.
- The revised thesis and Table of Amendments will then be sent to the Dean of Graduate Studies for final approval.
- ORI will notify the candidate, Supervisors and College that the candidate has meet all the requirements of the degree and the degree is to be awarded.
- The candidate will need to lodge with ORI a pdf copy of the thesis and complete the thesis deposit Agreement
- ORI will download the thesis pdf onto the Library repository so it will be made available online
- ORI will notify the Graduation office that the candidate has completed all the requirements of the degree
