Sue Smith

Dr Sue Erica Smith is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Education.

Her research interests are in meditation, social and emotional wellbeing, spirituality, Asian studies and Buddhism.

She has published ‘Buddhist voices in schools: How a community created a Buddhist education program for state schools,’ (2013, Sense), and explores ethics from diverse perspectives in ‘A Difficult Dinner Party — Being Loved and Safe, How Spirituality in Education Can Open Inclusive Practices (2014, Creative Approaches to Research).

Sue brings her love of narrative inquiry into research supervision in a chapter Reflections on Learning, Life and Work: completing Doctoral studies in mid and later career. Smith, S. E. (2012). Sue is currently engaged in a research project 3RITE: Race, Religion and Respect in Initial Teacher Education in Indonesia and Australia in collaboration with two PhD graduates from CDU.
